My name is Jesse. I was born on July 14, 1983 (Bastille Day!) in Salt Lake City, Utah, and this blog is all about my life.
Throughout my life, I’ve usually kept a journal. My mother gave me an inexpensive, spiral bound notebook and I made my first journal entry on August 2, 1989. I wrote about playing in the sandpit near my house and said that the United States was in a war with Iraq. Th e next entry I made was in third grade where I wrote about a girl that I had a crush on named Lauren.
For my 10th birthday, my parents gave me a Star Trek themed journal called a “Captain’s Log.” I did not use it until October 05, 1993 when I wrote, “Today I had ALOT of homework! I had 3 Math papers and 2 chapters in "Sign of the Beaver" Book, I hate it. Mom's gonna throw it away any way!”
I continued writing in my journal all the way through high school. However, when I went to Brigham Young University in January 2001, I stopped writing in my journal on a regular basis. From 2001 until 2004, my entries were sporadic.
It wasn’t until I started this blog that my entries started to be more regular and eventually became daily. BoyinSuit then became my journal in an electronic form.
As my blog's evolved, it has become more of a look at my life and who I am rather than a daily accounting of what I've done. I write about me, Utah, politics, my friends, my family, the gays, my partner Brian and our miniature schnauzer Titus.
Right now, I'm in law school at the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah. My partner is also going to law school with me.
