Instead of feeling sad for myself today, I decided that I wanted to do something that would get my mind off of things. I've wanted to visit the Golden Spike National Historic Site for years and thought today would be perfect. Because the Spiral Jetty is also near Golden Spike, I decided that we should go there too.
I had a lot of fun taking pictures (which is the main reason I wanted to go). However, one of my favorite moments of the day came as we drove home. Brian and I loudly sang "Mr. Roboto" together while our friend Dana laughed at us. It was enjoyable to just be living in the moment.
All my pictures from Golden Spike are here and all my pictures from Spiral Jetty are here. Here are some of my favorites:

The small details of the trains provided some great photo opportunities.

We took a bunch like this, but I liked this one best because Dana is laughing so hard.

This is from a miniature scene in the museum. I don't have a macro lens, but with some editing I thought this turned out nicely.

I was going to trash the original of this picture because the sky was too bright and the cows were too dark, but luckily, part of me thought it could be saved. This is why I hate to delete pictures. After a few edits, I really love this one.

The strong color saturation and the handsomeness of the model make me love this photo.

The sun was too bright, but I managed to work with what I had.

Dana took this one and I love how our two personalities shine through.
